On Sept. 9, the CPC Quzhou Municipal Committee and Quzhou Municipal Government held the promotion meeting of Central Inspection on Eco-Environmental Protection and Beautiful Quzhou Construction, deeply studying and implementing Xi Jinping’s thought on ecological civilization, conscientiously implementing the spirit of Provincial Promotion Meeting of Central Inspection on Eco-Environmental Protection and Beautiful Zhejiang Construction. Quzhou will enhance its political positioning and sense of responsibility, strictly carrying out the central inspection on eco-environmental protection with a distinct political attitude, firm determination and will, and promoting the construction of Beautiful Quzhou over a long period of time.

Gao Yi, secretary of the CPC municipal committee and head of the municipal leading group for the construction of Beautiful Quzhou, gave instructions; Xu Zhangyan, mayor and head of the city’s leading group for the construction of Beautiful Quzhou, gave a speech; Du Xinglin, deputy secretary of the CPC municipal  committee, minister of Social Work Department and secretary of the Political and Legal Committee, presided over the meeting; and the municipal leaders, Zhang Xiaofeng, Li Ning, Tong Weixin, and Wang Hui, were present.The relevant provincial honors and the results of the assessment of the Beautiful Quzhou construction work in 2023 are notified, and the report on the city’s promotion of the inspection and rectification and Beautiful Quzhou construction work listened. The persons in charge of Kaihua County, Zhizao New Zone, and the Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs made exchanges of speeches.

Gao Yi pointed out in his instructions that since the beginning of this year, the whole city has taken on the role and overcome difficulties to promote ecological environmental protection and the construction of Beautiful Quzhou, achieving remarkable results. As a next step, Quzhou will earnestly study and implement the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, adhere to Xi Jinping’s thought on ecological civilization as a guide, and firmly establish a correct view of political performance in accordance with the requirements of the CPC provincial committee and the provincial government. Quzhou will anchor the Beautiful Zhejiang assessment to strive for excellence in the target, fulfil the requirements of central inspection on eco-environmental protection  to rectify the problem, focus on the autumn and winter air pollution control campaign, the “three major emission” reduction, straw burning ban and other work, resolutely fight the battle of pollution prevention and control, and actively promote the green and low-carbon development. Quzhou will continue to promote the construction of Beautiful Quzhou to a higher level, continue to polish the most beautiful core area of the “Poetry and Painting of Zhejiang” Big Garden and the “golden name card” of the green ecological bridgehead at the border of four provinces, and make new and greater contributions to accelerating the construction of the central city at the border of four provinces, which is characterized by strong attraction, radiance, bandwidth and leadership.

Xu Zhangyan fully recognized the new achievements of local departments in promoting ecological environmental protection and the construction of Beautiful Quzhou, and deeply analyzed the problems and weaknesses. She emphasized the need to take Central Inspection on Eco-Environmental Protection as a engine, and solidly promote the construction of Beautiful Quzhou to a new level.Quzhou will resolutely carry out the pollution prevention and control campaign, focusing on emission reduction, pollution control, straw burning ban, solid waste disposal and other aspects to promote the quality of air, water, and soil to a higher level. Quzhou will vigorously deepen green and low-carbon development, solidly push forward the reform of the carbon account system and carbon reduction technology, optimize the spatial development pattern of the national territory, and develop green productivity according to local conditions.Quzhou will systematically implement ecological protection and restoration, increase the protection of biodiversity, and make every effort to build a green ecological barrier. Quzhou will also deeply promote the construction of beautiful urban and rural areas in the whole region, continue to improve the urban and rural landscape, accelerate the construction of beautiful countryside, clean rivers and lakes, and further stimulate the vitality of the Poetry and Picture Scenic Belt of Zhejiang.

Xu Zhangyan emphasized that the construction of Beautiful Quzhou is a systematic project with a wide range of aspects and influencing factors.Various departments should take effective measures according to changes in the situation, including strengthening the work of coordination, improving the rectification and implementation mechanism, strengthening the reform and innovation thinking, and enhancing the cohesion of joint management and  synergies, and working together to improve the ecological quality of the most beautiful core area of the “Poetry and Paintings of Zhejiang” Big Garden.
