On the morning of June 11, the Standing Committee of the CPC Municipal Committee held a meeting to convey and study the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s recent important reply and congratulatory letter, and study on the strategies of implementation and follow-up.

Gao Yi, the secretary of the CPC Municipal Committee, presided over the meeting.

The committee emphasized the importance to seriously study and implement the spirit of the important letter and reply from General Secretary Xi Jinping to Lamont Repollet, President of Kean University in American, to make good use of the unique resources of the Great Rescue of Doolittle Raid and “Liang Zi” Culture (Confucianism culture and Go culture), and to deepen the enhancement project of “Thousands of Twinning Friendship Schools”. Quzhou will further play the role of bridge and link of education exchange and cooperation, actively carry out civil diplomacy with an open and inclusive attitude, continuously expand Quzhou’s international “circle of friends”, and expand the “circle of cooperation” in going out, and thus making more contributions to the great power diplomacy with Chinese characteristics.

The committee stressed the significance of seriously studying and implementing the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important congratulatory letter to the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, in accordance with the deployment of the Sixth Plenary Session of the Eighth CPC Municipal Committee. Quzhou will grasp and implement the “four lists” of major work, major reforms, major projects, major policies, and explore a road of shaping a new advantage for development by scientific and technological innovation and developing new quality productive forces with the characteristics of Quzhou. Our city will accelerate the transformation and application of scientific and technological innovation achievements, give full play to the function of high-level science and innovation platforms, accelerate the construction of the industrialization mode of innovation achievements in line with the law of scientific and technological innovation, the law of technology transfer and the law of industrial development, and endeavour to enable more cutting-edge innovation achievements to be moved from the laboratory to the production line and to the global market in Quzhou. Quzhou will closely follow the needs of high-quality development of Quzhou’s industries and construction of “Three Teams”, vigorously promote the recruitment of talents, in-depth implementation of the Engineer Cultivation Programme, the full implementation of the independent evaluation mechanism of enterprise talent, to further stimulate the attraction and use of talents by enterprises as the main body, and more fully unleash the vitality of human resources and innovation.

The meeting studied the work related to ecological environmental protection, stressing the need to thoroughly implement Xi Jinping’s thought on ecological civilization, raise the political standpoint, strengthen the systematic arrangement, further reduce the granularity, formulate the work list, highlight the key points, press the responsibility, close the loop of control and achieve the expected results in a limited period of time, and continue to protect and preserve the blue sky, the clear water, and the clean land, so as to really support high-quality development with high-quality ecological environment.
